| This was a small pseudo-Spanish style home located on a sub-standard lot in Berkeley, CA. The client sought ways to increase the size, without actually increasing the size and to upgrade the overall look of the house. While the final design ended up with slightly less total square footage, the house was made more spacious by opening up the plan, maximizing previously unused spaces for storage, laundry and cabinets, and opening up the house with the addition of several outdoor rooms. In the next phase of work a new master suite will be added at the existing roof area. |
